Dr. Tyler J. Albert was born in Southern California. The majority of his childhood he was raised in Bakersfield where he graduated from Liberty High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University – Idaho, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with an emphasis in Human Biology. While attending Brigham Young University – Idaho, he me his wife, Carlie, and they now have two young children of their own along with caring for their niece. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree, he continued his graduate education at Southern California College of Optometry where he graduated magna cum laude and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2020. Dr. Albert was also a member of the honor society Beta Sigma Kappa while completing his education.
Dr. Albert was exposed to a variety of practice settings as part of his optometric education including The Boys & Girls Club in Garden Grove, Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital on the Gila River Indian Reservation, The Bakersfield Veteran’s Hospital, and The University Eye Center at Los Angeles. During these experiences, he has gained valuable knowledge in pediatric optometry, ocular disease diagnosis and management, post-op cataract management, geriatric optometry, contact lens fitting, and primary eye care.
When not correcting vision, Dr. Albert enjoys spending time with his family. His favorite activities include playing sports, hiking, running, playing games, and spending time at the beach.
