Dr. Crawford was born and raised in southeastern Idaho and attended Brigham Young University. After receiving his bachelor's degree in Zoology, he moved on to his graduate education at the Southern California College of Optometry where he graduated summa cum laude and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2006. While in school, he met his wife, Rachel, and they are now the proud parents of four wonderful children.
As part of his optometric education, Dr. Crawford had the opportunity to provide care to patients in a variety of practice settings including the Salt Lake City Veteran's Hospital, Warm Springs Oregon Indian Reservation, and the Naval Hospital in Lemoore, CA. During this time, Dr. Crawford gained valuable experience in primary eye care, specialty contact lens fitting, and ocular disease diagnosis and management.
While in California, Dr. Crawford has served as President-Elect, board member, and Legislative Keyperson for the Kern County Optometric Society. His service in the California Optometric Association has taken him to the state capitol many times to lobby for scope of practice issues and patient care legislation.
Dr. Crawford is excited to be back in California and is looking forward to providing exceptional eye care to the residents of Bakersfield. He loves playing all sports, camping, and of course, spending as much time with his young family as he can.
